Short answer: The Starlink Mini comes with a kickstand and a Pipe Adapter and Flat Mount, which cover a table, a pole or a flat surface straight out of the box. For a house, roof or vehicle, Starlink makes five Mini-specific mounts: the Wall Mount, Pivot Mount, Roof Rack Mount, Mobility Mount and a replacement Pipe Adapter and Flat Mount. If you’ll use the Mini while driving, you need a Roam or Priority plan: Starlink supports in-motion use on Roam, Local Priority and Global Priority plans, up to 100 mph (160 km/h) in authorized locations.

What’s in the box, and when it’s enough
Starlink’s spec sheet lists a kickstand and a Pipe Adapter and Flat Mount in the Mini kit. For trips where you set up and pack down each day, the kickstand is usually all you need. The pipe adapter lets you put the Mini on a pole or flat surface without buying anything else, though you’ll need your own screws for a flat surface.
Starlink’s own Mini mounts
- Mini Wall Mount: for an exterior wall near the top of a gable or fascia. It reaches past an overhang of up to 4 inches, and Starlink includes the mounting hardware.
- Mini Pivot Mount: for sloped, shingled roofs. It swivels so you can fine-tune the angle, and it comes with hardware and sealant tape.
- Mini Roof Rack Mount: clamps to vehicle roof racks with bars 12 mm to 48 mm thick and up to 88 mm wide. Starlink says it isn’t meant for round bars. The Mini lifts off when you’re not using it.
- Mini Mobility Mount: a permanent, waterproof-sealed mount for wood, fiberglass, metal or plastic surfaces, with stainless steel fasteners. It’s the choice for a van, trailer or boat where the Mini stays put.
- Mini Pipe Adapter and Flat Mount: a replacement or spare for the one in the kit.
All five fit the Starlink Mini only. Buy them from the Starlink Shop, where current prices are listed.
Homes and cabins
For a fixed install, the Wall Mount and Pivot Mount are the Starlink options. Plan the cable route before you drill; our cable guide and installation planning guide cover that. If the Mini replaces a Standard dish, see our general Starlink mounts guide.
Vehicles and RVs
Choose between the Roof Rack Mount (removable, needs suitable crossbars) and the Mobility Mount (permanent). Using the Mini while moving needs a Roam or Priority plan. Our Roam plans guide explains the Roam options. For power on the road, see the Mini car adapter and portable power for the Mini.
Third-party options
Magnetic roof mounts and tripods aren’t made by Starlink. If you look at one, check that the listing names the Starlink Mini, how it grips the dish, what it’s rated for, and that it has a point for a tether. A magnetic base suits short, temporary use on a steel roof; for regular driving, Starlink’s own Roof Rack or Mobility Mount is the sturdier route. A tripod is a ground option for campsites where a table or the kickstand won’t give a clear view.

Placement comes first
Whatever mount you use, the Mini needs a clear view of the sky. Check the spot with the app before you drill; our obstruction map guide explains how.
FAQ
Can a Starlink Mini be permanently mounted?
Yes. The Wall Mount and Pivot Mount are fixed home installs, and the Mobility Mount is Starlink’s permanent, sealed option for vehicles and boats.
What’s the best way to mount a Mini on a car?
If your car has suitable flat crossbars, the Mini Roof Rack Mount. For a permanent install, the Mobility Mount. Magnetic mounts are third-party and better for temporary use.
Can I put the Mini on my dashboard?
Starlink doesn’t document dashboard use. It says the dish needs a clear view of the sky, so use an outside mount such as the Roof Rack or Mobility Mount.
